Surviving Natures Fury
Surviving Nature’s fury - What is the deadliest weather that a human being can survive?
Tornados, lightning, storms at sea, extreme climates, hail, floods? Human beings now travel the globe, to some of the most remote and hostile regions, and in doing so come up against the most deadly weather. But extreme weather can also seek us out. Tornados and flash floods have no regard for society and can destroy whole communities, freezing weather can descend on cities and lightning can strike in the very heart of towns. We seek out those incredible individuals who have survived the worst that Mother Nature can throw at them and ask the question; what is the deadliest weather a human being can survive?

ONE PAGE SYNOPSIS
Human beings now travel the globe, to some of the most remote and hostile regions, and in doing so come up against the most deadly weather, violent storms that can rip a person to shreds, floods that carry them away and drown them and blizzards that can freeze an individual to death.
But extreme weather can also seek us out. Tornados and flash floods have no regard for society and can destroy whole communities, freezing weather can descend on cities and lightning can strike in the very heart of towns.
We seek out those incredible individuals who have survived the worst that Mother Nature can throw at them and ask the question; what is the deadliest weather that a human being can survive?
Tornados
Though smaller than a hurricane tornados are a far more intense risk to humans caught in their path. We hear from survivors in Bridge Creek, a Oklahoma town that was smashed by a mile wide, F5 monster.
Lightning
The idea that it mostly strikes golfers or that rubber boots are good protection are just two of the myths surrounding lightning strikes. We hear from those who survived about the real, and sometimes terrible, effects lightning can have.
Storms at Sea
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide and an environment which humans are simply not built for, storms at sea can spell disaster for even experienced sailors.
Extreme Climates
Heat and cold can test the human body to it limits – we test the effects they can have and speak to experts who know what happens when you’re trapped on Everest or the Arizona Desert.
Hail
We fire baseball size hail to show the impact that the giant hailstones of the American Mid West and elsewhere can have.
Floods
Just a few hours rain can turn high streets into raging torrents, causing damage to houses, cars or people in their path. We hear from rescuers and those who have had incredible escapes before conducting our own demonstration of the power of fast flowing water.
